Welcome to Moon Chants October 2009 Issue!

October is a very special month, bringing a very special season. During the month, we can hear nature whispering by the cool, crisp wind. Any magick we perform during October is naturally triple powered so results are extremely fast with enormous energy. And we welcome the spiritual world to meet with our own as the veil between the realms is the thinnest.

This month will be my most fascinating October ever! My family and I are visiting our relatives in Northern Ireland. We will leave on the 2nd and return home one month later. But a family reunion isn't the only reason we are visiting this beautiful country. It's for you as well. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to project this type of magick for you. So although I will be in Ireland all month long, I am working the entire time. And many of the relatives who are meeting at the family castle are professional clairvoyants and practitioners of the magickal arts. They will be assisting me with all of my readings and spell work. So I will be directly working with 12 other people with extensive experience. Of all the magick I've ever performed in my entire life, there has never been such univeral power, energy and strength as there will be this Samhain with the aid of 12 of my relatives.

Halloween is the eve of All Saints Day. It is a Christian Holy Day with pagan roots. The word Halloween derives from medieval Britain's All Hallows' Eve which means All Saints' Eve.

The customs associated with Halloween find their roots in old Celtic paganism. The old Irish called dusk on October 31 until dusk on November 1 Samhain (So-wen), meaning "summer's end", and it represented the New Year or first day of winter. The Celtic calendar only recognized two seasons, winter and summer. The dark winter was the waning part of the year while light summer was the waxing half of the year.

During Samhain, the Celts believed that the veil between the earthly and spiritual realms was very thin. Spirits were able to easily reach the earth and roam the night terrifying the living by playing tricks on them. To ward away the spirits, bonfires burned, sweets were distrubed and everyone dressed in costumes and masks so spirits would mistake them for one of their own.

These customs were all in good fun. In different parts of North America and Europe, some of these practices still continue. (Halloween is the second biggest American holiday.) However, we must bear in mind that the Celts also honored their ancestors each Samhain. They performed spells and rituals calling upon them and the energy of the universe to help them through the winter months and the upcoming year. The energy of their magick still lives on.

Samhain is a spiritual, extraordinarily magickal time of the year and should always be remembered as and respected as such.

There once was an old witch who lived in a small cottage deep in the Pennsylvania woods. The towns people never crossed her for fear of what may happen to them or their families. Soon, the little girls in the town began disappearing one by one. When the towns people confronted the witch, they noticed that she was no longer old. She was young and beautiful with long flowing auburn hair, snow-white skin and sparkling deep brown eyes. When the men found the graves of the children behind Mary's cottage, they built a huge fire and burned her alive. Before she met death, she glarred at those before her and vowed revenge. She promised that anyone who would look into a mirror at midnight on All Hallow's Eve chanting her name three times in a row would have their bodies torn to pieces as their soul pulled into the mirror to burn for all eternity as she was burned once on earth.

Mystical Creature: The Bat

Bats are associated with Halloween, vampires and the occult.
Here are some fun facts about bats:

*There are are over 1,000 species of bats in the world. They account for 25 percent of the mammal population.
*Some bats live up to 30 years.
*The bat's head looks more like a fox or dog than a rat. They're actually very cute.
*A bat could eat over 1,000 insects per hour.
*Bats have only one baby at a time. A baby bat is called a pup.
*Bats don't swoop down on people and get caught in their hair.
*They are very social and live in large groups.
*"Vampire bats" never attack people to feed.
*Bats have a very low incidence of rabies.
*If it wasn't for bats, we would be overrun by insects. Our food supply would diminish and we would be "eaten alive". These creatures should be respected, not feared.

Fun Facts ~

Anglo-Saxon tribes referred to Halloween as "need fire" due to the darkness quickly moving into the evening hours. They would light bonfires to call upon sun magick and power to successfully survive the winter season.

Bobbing for applies is actually an old pagan baptismal ritual.

Jack-o-Lanterns were carved to ward off evil spirits, and the tradition still continues today. It's said when the light flickers, an evil spirit is being scared away.

Here are some spells and divinations you could do yourself . . .

Retrieve Lost Money Spell

If someone owes you money, and they refuse to pay, you could try this spell. Begin the spell on the 23rd of October. It will run for nine nights in a row, ending on Halloween.

On a piece of parchment paper, write the person's name and the amount owed nine times side by side. Fold the paper twice and write "return my money now" on the folded part. Place it under a dark colored glass or ceramic plate and above it, place a green, annointed money candle with the amount owed carved in it. Light the candle. Be still for a moment then chant three times:
"Return what is mine. Remourse will encompass you until it's returned. Dreams will be had until it's returned. This debt will fill your thoughts daily until it's returned. Pay the money now!"
Slip the paper out from under the plate and burn one small corner of it. Repeat this each night for nine nights. This spell will end on Halloween night. At the last night, burn the paper fully down, take the ashes and place them in a small black cloth tied with a green ribbon. Keep it in a safe place until the money is returned. With each night, make sure you say, "may harm come to no one as a result of this magick." That will keep everyone (including YOU) safe throughout the magickal process.

A Simple Spell Reversal

This is for simple spells. To reverse a simple spell, take a large black anointed candle and place it in a circle of salt. Light the candle and chant 13 times: "(The name of the spell), reverse. (The name of the spell), disburse. (The name of the spell), fade away. Magick and energy, do not stay." Let the candle totally burn out. (It may take hours.)

Love Divination

If you're torn between lovers and desperately trying to determine which man is right for you, here's a divining method you could use. It will tell you who will be a loyal, faithful choice and who has insincere intentions.

Line up hazelnuts in front of a fire. Below each hazelnut write the name of each man on a piece of pure white paper. Then chant: "If you love me, pop and fly. If you hate me, burn and die." The one who truly loves you will pop.

Older children can be targets of violence and abductions just as easily as smaller children. Kids are only kids for a short time. Dress up and accompany your kids. Enjoy your time as a parent!

Note to Homosexual Clients regarding Twin Flame Love Reading:

The Lovers Tarot

Most versions of The Lovers card depict a man between two females. One woman is blonde and the other woman is a brunette. Traditionally people have recognized this card as showing two different paths that can be taken in life. At other times the card is thought to be simply showing two different decisions or choices that can be made about various facets of life. Sometimes the card can be interpreted as illustrating a choice between potential suitors.

A lesson learned from this card can be a realization that some decisions people make are deep, requiring long, and careful assessment. This would be a level of thought far surpassing abrupt choices which may seem rational at the moment.

In most of the cards, the brunette seems older than the blonde. She has been commonly referred to as the man's mother in the card because of her mature, aged appearance. People can see from this how they are able to break away from the holds of their parents through their newly formed sexual urges and desires. Newly formed sexual energies trigger the beginning of adolescence. These energies are not only attributed to early sexual experiences, but also to identity formation. These desires, urges, and feelings fuel the fire for the growth of future value and belief systems.
One version of the card called the Waite image illustrates the strength and beauty of mature and loving bonds between people in relationships. On most cards, an angel at the top is considered to be anointing the man and woman underneath it.

This image can also exemplify the way feelings of love and adoration can grow between people. The intensity from the feelings derived from this card represent how the whole relationship is far greater than the entirety of it's parts.

The figures of the man and two women can also be considered examples of individuality. The card can highlight the importance of personal identity and awareness versus relationships between people. The male on the card expresses responsiveness and alertness while the women emote an inanimate energy. The angel can represent how people are constantly pursuing a heightened spiritual awakening.

People seem to always be searching for a meaning in life, to experience a type of rebirth, or achieve some sort of spiritual enlightenment. People need to be educated, to acquire knowledge, and a certain level of rationality to function in life. The path to awareness and enlightenment stems from the subconscious.

When people first observe the Lovers, they imagine an meaning to be associated with a relationship. It may be a past relationship, or a future relationship. It may even be a current relationship or the desire of a person to obtain a relationship. Usually the exact meaning is determined upon revelations in future cards.

In some Tarot card decks, usually older ones, the Lovers card conveys some sort of decision that is to be made. Usually this decision is between partners in relationship, but sometimes the decision may be about something different. Examples could be money matters, business matters, or other social and economic concerns. In more modern decks of cards, the Lovers card can represent accomplishment.

If the card is reversed, it can show what maladies can plague even the most perfect of relationships. Other times a reversed card can illustrate what difficulties may befall a person searching for a partner. The search can seem difficult and laborious with no end in sight. At times a reversed card can simply mean a person will exhibit poor decision making skills.

The High Priestess of the Tarot Women represents a virgin of sorts. She can be seen as being similar to the Greeks goddesses Athena, and Artemis. Many lunar images can be seen on various High Priestess cards because this image is that of a maiden moon or new moon.

This image is usually shown at the feet of the Waite version of cards, as the crescent. The moon, in all three phases is seen in the Isis crown on the card. Two horns depict the waxing and waning phases of the moon. A circle in the middle symbolizes the full moon. Many believe that the High Priestess is a guard of secrets and the mysteries of life. This is because she is usually shown holding a book or some type of scroll. It is because of this that people believe she is telling us that many mysteries exist and at sometime we might be privy to these mysteries. Unfortunately right now these mysteries are guarded and protected only to be unraveled at another time. Why? In the unconscious, our ego will only allow us to see truths if we pretend we exist isolated from the rest of the world. To enlighten us, the High Priestess usually tries to engulf us by making us question our very being. This would be our existence. This is hard for people to accept as they are usually given very little information about their existence. That is all the High Priestess will allow. When a reading is performed, the High Priestess suggests people need to delve inside themselves to find peace. Is it hard for people? It has been suggested that it can be hard for people to find a truth they cannot explain. When this happens people must accept that if they cannot find their truth or peace, then they need to be tranquil as to not totally lose this inner peace. The Empress is a feminist of sorts. She embodies amiability, passion, and a desire for opulence. The Empress can be seen as being similar to Demeter, and Aphrodite. Aphrodite is known as the Goddess of love. Another name for Aphrodite is Venus. Also symbolized by the Empress is a correlation between motherhood and a woman's sexual appetite. Great passion and a yearning for motherhood can be illustrated by the Empress. A female's sexual prowess can be associated with development and abundance of ferocity for life as depicted by the Empress. Early drawings of the vulva symbolize the relationship between fertility and emergence of human life. Pleasures of life are associated with the Empress because of her direct relationship with fertility. In a reading the Empress is associated with life and emotions. She is also affiliated with the giving of herself like mother gives of herself to her children. Fertility of the body as well as the spirit is stressed by the Empress. Often in Tarot Readings, the Empress blinds us with passion, causing people to be blinded by their personal strife in life. Often the Empress is viewed as a mother in a reading. The Empress may indicate infertility or rejection when reversed in a reading. Other times the Empress provides enlightenment in order to sway people to more insightful aspects of life, rather than just succumbing to their deepest yearning.

Most people are aware that reading someone's future with tarot cards is a complicated process. The cards each hold significance and can mean many things to many different people. Did you know however, that the meaning of tarot cards also depends on the way they are laid out on the table, otherwise known as tarot spreads?
The cards can be spread out on the table many different ways. Among these, the spread known as the Celtic cross is by far the most popular. When a person is learning tarot spreads, they often learn this one first. Just as with the meanings, there are different ways to lay out the Celtic cross. This article is going to describe this tarot spread so that you may better understand how to put it together.
Typically, the Celtic cross will consist of ten cards, and it is split into two sections. Some descriptions will call these sections the cross and the staff. Six of the cards will make up the cross with two in the center and one to each side, and then the remaining four to the right of the cross, making up the staff. The Celtic cross is one of the best tarot spreads to use when asking a personal inquiry that is close to the person's spirit.

When laid out in this way each card holds extra meaning and has a special position in the question being asked. It has been said over the course of history that this tarot spread has a lot of strength because it has been used a great deal. By learning tarot spreads like it, it naturally became stronger. By far the first two cards, which are the cards in the center of the cross, are the most important. They deal with the largest issue. They will sometimes provide a situation and an answer but that is always changing.

The next cards you will examine in the cross are cards three and five, which will be across from each other in the cross shape. With these cards, you will surely learn more about the person, where card three holds the truth, such as who the person really is and how they really feel, card five will show the shallower version of those. Much like three and five, cards four and six are across from each other and hold a lot of meaning.

Learning tarot spreads in this way by becoming familiar with each card, such as four being long-ago and six being the future, is a great way to study and sharpen your talents. These are easily explained with card four being the one the person needs to get farther from and card six is the experiences in life towards which they should move. The last four cards such as seven and eight are up for a lot of interpretation when laid out in tarot spreads like the cross. In this case one card stands for the person and the other can stand for anything such as another person or a deep connection to nature.
Card ten when placed in the staff of the Celtic cross refers to the future. This is what most people are interested in when having their fortune told so be sure to know the difference between card six and ten. Six is typically, what could happen and ten is the more likely of the two. This is always up for argument, but the reader is ultimately the one who places and reads the cards. Although out of order, card nine is the last card you will read within the staff. This card can be read literally in any way that you wish, although historically it is used to explain the meanings of the other cards.

Learning tarot spreads like the Celtic cross is not only an entertaining past time it is also a way to connect with people on a deeper level. People are more likely to connect with you as well if you understand your cards and their placement. Welcome to Moon Chants June 2009. It's summer, and for most, summer represents freedom, relaxation and connecting with nature. But there's something VERY special about the Month of June!

When a person loses somebody close to them they find solace in the idea of the deceased person returning to them in the form of a guardian angel
. People find it comforting to think that a deceased person can return to them as a spirit or body that watches over them.

Some people feel that their guardian angel can help protect them from harm. Other people find it comforting to think that their deceased loved one is still with them as a step of the mourning process.

Some people have been so desperate as to try and communicate with their guardian angel that they contemplated the usage of a Ouija board. This was a very dangerous practice to participate in. This is because the spirits contacted with the use of a Ouija board are far from "angelic".

The spirits contacted with a Ouija board are usually precarious and malevolent. Usually spirits contacted via a Ouija board are entities from the thresholds of hell. These are not friendly or well meaning spirits in any way. Grieving people, desperate for a sign from their deceased loved one, may be more susceptible to the game of the Ouija board. In order to effectively contact their guardian angel, people need to be in a stage of human development where they are capable of coming to terms with the idea of enhancing their lives in a psychic fashion. In order to attract the attention of their guardian angel , people need to not only have a desire to learn

The idea of a guardian angel can be soothing to an injured heart because it provides a person with an entity that can help guide them in various facets of life, as well as offer protection if danger were to strike. Guardian angels often arrive when a person feels an urgent need to have them visit.

Guardian angels have a dual duty job. Their job is to make sure people can handle aspects of their physical life in conjunction with that of their spiritual life. The role of the guardian angel is to also enable people to make positive decisions in life.

The guardian angel is the voice people talk to before making this important decision. The guardian angel can also be the voice of your conscience. Guardian angels respect people and because of this they like to encourage people to experience as much as possible in life. This is because people learn more from experience than merely reading books.

Guardian angels labor just like human beings do, though the jobs are different. The main role of a guardian angel is to encourage people to embrace life. Guardian angels will mend a hurting heart if it means one more person will be able to see all the splendor that is life!

Witchcraft/Wicca is a positive, earthy religion, which celebrates Life and Nature in dedication of the Goddess and God. The Goddess is symbolized by the moon and is often referred to as the Triple Goddess - Maiden, Mother and Crone. The 12 to 13 Full Moons of the Year are celebrated during the Esbats, which are in a way, lesser Sabbats.The God is symbolized by the Sun. The movement of the sun through the heavens manifest in seasonal changes. This movement is symbolized as a wheel by Witches/Wiccans and referred to as the Wheel of the Year. The interaction between the Goddess and God is celebrated at eight specific points on the Wheel. Four of the celebrations correspond with the two equinoxes and the two solstices. The four remaining celebrations each honor a figurative phase of Nature and the associated festivities can be traced back to time immemorial on many parts of the globe. These eight celebrations are called Sabbats.The Sabbats are days of power. They tell a tale of the Goddess and the God and how Their interaction affects us on earth.Yule (+/- 21 December)Yule marks the Winter Solstice and the shortest day of the Year. It is at this time when the Goddess gives birth to the God. As the God is symbolized by the Sun, this celebration also marks the rebirth of the Sun. From the 21st of December, the days gradually start growing in length as the God gains strength, each day passing marking one day closer to the bounty of spring. This day reminds Witches/Wiccans that the ultimate product of Death is Re-birth - a comforting and joyous occasion indeed.Imbolc (2 February)The Goddess has recovered from giving Birth to the God. The God too has developed into a young, lively Boy. As the rays of the Sun linger increasingly longer on the recovered Earth, Life gradually starts re-awakening. It is a time of new beginnings, a time to renew old commitments, a time to cleanse your spirit and your surroundings, and ultimately a time to start afresh.Ostara (+/- 21 March)Ostara coincides with the Spring equinox and marks the beginning of Spring. This is also the day when light and darkness are of equal length. The Goddess is clad in all Her finery and the God, as He moves through Nature, leaves trails of green in His wake. At this time the Goddess and God are aware of one another and Their ability to procreate through union, an awareness that culminates in consummation at Beltane. Now is a time to tend your garden, to nurture the seedlings that germinated from the seeds you planted - both spiritually and physically.Beltane (+/- 30 April)The God has reached Manhood. The God and the Goddess fall in love and consummate their Union. The Goddess becomes pregnant of the God. During Beltane, Witches/Wiccans will celebrate by dancing around a Maypole during festivities. The pole is symbolic of the God (phallic symbol), whilst the greenery and ribbons are symbolic of the Goddess. During Beltane, Witches/Wiccans celebrate the fertility of Nature.Litha (+/- 21 June)Litha marks the Summer Solstice. It is the longest day and the shortest night of the year. The Goddess and God now rule the earth in union. The Goddess is pregnant, signifying the abundance and plenty now on earth. The Sabbat also indicates the turning point of the year. Until Yule, the light will gradually fade, giving in to darkness. Litha is not a time for reflection though. For Witches/Wiccans it is time to celebrate and make merry as though there is no tomorrow.Lughnasadh (1 August)Lughnasadh marks the first harvest. Now is the time when the plants and trees drop their seed both to ensure future crops and to provide us with food for the rest of the summer and perhaps even the winter months to come. The God's power is waning and the Goddess realizes that He is approaching death. Yet inside Her, she carries His seed thus ensuring that He will live on. For Witches/Wiccans it is a time to remember the bounty of the earth and understand that the Universe is constantly changing, always in flux.Mabon (+/- 21 September)Mabon is the second harvest and marks the Fall Equinox. As at Ostara, the day and the night are of equal length. The God is busy dying. The earth is withdrawing its bounty as each day passes, preparing for rest. For Witches/Wiccans, Mabon is a time of preparation. It is a time of taking stock and a time to find some balance again.Samhain (31 October)The Witches/Wiccans bid the God farewell as He dies and enters the Underworld. Their farewell is however only temporary as He is awaiting rebirth to the Goddess again at Yule. At Samhain, the veil between the realms of Life and Death is at its thinnest. In celebrating Samhain, Witches/Wiccans celebrate those loved ones that have crossed over to the Realm of Death. It is a time, when Witches reflect on the year gone by and come to terms with the one constant in Life, namely Death.True Wiccans/Witches honor the eight Sabbats as these are days of both real and symbolic power. Celebrating the Sabbats is an important aspect and an integral part of the Wiccan/Witch's way.

Cassia: More commonly known in the United States as cinnamon, the scent of this herbal spice improves concentration. It can be used as an anointing oil or incense. Medicinally, it warms the body and strengthens the circulation. It can serve as an anti-viral or anti-bacterial. Chamomile: Often used in day to day life as a calming tea, this herb can be used for dream work including the avoidance of nightmares. It can be used in love spells and in amulets or talismans meant to draw money. Midsummer celebrations often include chamomile. Cinquefoil: This herb is used in love and protection spells, dream work and divination. It is often used in Midsummer celebrations. It can be used in bath water to encourage dream work or put into a dream pillow. For the other uses, it can be burned as an incense. Coriander: Commonly found in the kitchen's spice rack, coriander can also be used as an incense promoting concentration. In spell work, it can be used in love or prosperity spells. It is also believed to have some healing properties. Costus root: If you come across a spell requiring musk and are a vegan, the cotus root can serve as a replacement. It can be used in love and elemental spells since it is good for clarity and acts as an aphrodisiac. There are rumors that it can act as a narcotic when smoked but it isn't recommended. Damiana: This plant is usually used in love spells since it is an aphrodisiac for both sexes. It can also be used as a love talisman or amulet. Dogbane: This herb is thought to be a creativity enhancer and can be used in love spells or divination work. In medicine, it is used in a tea for treating high blood pressure and depression. It can also act as a diuretic or sedative. Fennel: A common cooking herb and tea ingredient, fennel can be used as a stimulant or in spells for courage, fertility or protection. It is thought to increase concentration and memory. Fireweed: As its name would suggest, fireweed does well in spells involving fire. It can also be used in rituals that seek to heal the spirit after some sort of transformation. Galangal: Similar to ginger in taste, galangal is an aphrodisiac ripe for sexual spells. It can also be used in a satchel or amulet for protection. The smell is pleasant and it won't draw negative attention to you if carried around. Goat's Rue: This herb can be used in binding spells or put in a tea to ward off fatigue. It can be used as a diuretic or to clear up a bladder infection.Grains of Paradise: Place bags containing this herb near the doors to your home for protection or carry it in an amulet for personal safety. It can also be used in charms that are used for sexual attraction. Hops: Best known for being an ingredient of beer, hops can be used under the pillow to ward off insomnia.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid Dreaming is a term coined by Frederik van Eeden. Very simply put, a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming is called a Lucid Dream. The term 'lucid' is thus synonymous with 'conscious' or 'aware'. But the degree of your 'lucidity' can vary according to the strength of your conscious focus and its stability, the presence of the critical faculty and memory ability, and finally, your ability to take control of the dream itself.

Similar to Astral Projection, Lucid Dreams can be spontaneous or intentional experiences, yet they are somewhat more commonly remembered. Sometimes people become lucid in a dream seemingly without any particular reason, just suddenly realizing that they are dreaming. But mostly, lucidity is triggered by an incongruity which would not occur in physical life, such as flying, or being unable to turn off a light switch, or words rearranging themselves, or anything that 'cannot' happen in the physical world.

The great thing about Lucid Dreaming is that once you recognize you're inside a dream, you can change or create whatever you like in the dream. By becoming aware and exercising your will to choose, you get to experience just what you want to experience! Consider that for a moment. Not many people ever get a chance like that, certainly not so easily. It really is your own 'Personal Virtual Reality', with a flexibility and realism far exceeding the most advanced computer simulation.

I think this is best thing about them - you can do anything in a Lucid Dream. And I mean anything! There are no limits or boundaries to your experience as there are in the physical world, nor is there any time delay to what you create - everything appears virtually instantly as you desire it. I'm not sure how else to describe this but to say it's very fulfilling and freedom engendering. And really really really fun!

This deeply satisfying aspect of these experiences may be partly why the Astral Plane has also been called the 'Desire World.' And because dreams take place within the Astral Plane, by becoming lucid we find we are already in the Astral! If and when we want to 'project' from a Lucid Dream, we just stop creating stuff, make it all disappear, and try to see what's there. We may find ourselves exploring or interacting with other conscious dreamers or projectors on the Astral. Or we can return to our bedroom for an instant Etheric Projection.

Another huge point that needs to be made is that dreams are totally realistic to us when we're experiencing them. It is only upon later reflection we may call an experience 'just a dream'. All our senses, emotions, thoughts, feelings in a dream are as though the dream were 'actually' happening. It is! It's not less real, it's just more dynamic and fluid. And, when we become lucid, we usually find the acuteness and sensational aspects of the experience increase many times over, similar or beyond peak alertness while awake.

"Some dream events are more vivid than waking ones. It is only when the personality passes out of the dream experience that it may seem unreal in retrospect." - Seth, Seth, Dreams and Projections in Consciousness p.219
And now for the real good news: you can induce Lucid Dreams too. One of these techniques is almost exactly the same as projection ones. In this case the difference in name is merely a technicality. But most Lucid Dreaming techniques involve learning to 'wake up' within a normal dream, at which point you decide what to do from there. There are a number of ways of doing this, some more effective than others, but I've made it my quest to explore and improve on them all.

Lucid Dreams can happen whenever regular dreams happen, and there are typically around four or five major dream periods in a single night, and each period can contain multiple dreams. So there is plenty of opportunity to make the most of our dreams. It's actually quite hard to describe the sense of wonder that comes with Lucid Dreams! But okay, you convinced me, I will try...
To you - the self in the dream - the dream IS real, simply because that IS the 'reality' you are in. But at the same time you 'know' you are 'dreaming'. From that inside perspective, it is your waking life that can seem like some kind of vague dream! It's truly only a matter of perspective or focus as to what is 'more' or 'less' real at any particular time.

To use an analogy, it is as if you hold both hands out wide: one hand is your waking self and one hand is your dreaming self. If you turn your head and shift your focus from one hand to the other and back, is either 'less real'? No way - both exist simultaneously. You remember the 'opposite' exists, but you are simply not focused there. Just as both hands are 'yours', your waking and dreaming selves are both 'you'.

By learning to dream with lucidity, we are blending our waking self and dreaming self identities in a way that will enrich the experience of both. We bring an ability to focus better consciously in the dream world and our creative abilities surface far more easily in waking life. And in the process we explore many new ideas and have a whole heap of fun!

Funny as it might sound, you can 'induce' a spontaneous Astral Experience. To do this you need to fill your mind up with Astral Projection and Lucid dreaming information by reading about it, thinking about it, discussing it. Some advocate becoming obsessed by these subjects to do this (I do not however. From experience I can say this information overload was more of a setback than a help. Concise quality information is a far better option. Meaning this course of course. :-) But basically by this you are just suggesting and prompting your subconscious to induce an experience during or after sleep, and there are far more effective techniques for doing this too.

In the end, intellectual knowledge only helps so much. Both Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming are things you DO, and get better at. They involve intentional active practices, like learning to play an instrument or a sport. Knowing about something is not the same as experiencing it. You can't become an expert by studying the Astral second-hand, any more than you can become a violinist by reading music. Real results are achieved by the right attitude and actually using the techniques you learn.

Announcements

Moonlight Enchantments will be undergoing some changes early 2009. My book will be available mid to late 2009. Based upon this, I will be offering exclusive spell kits, magical dolls and candles as well as the services currently offered.
